Re-Programming Your Computer

I'm sure some, most of us, even all of us have woken up "on the wrong side of the bed" we wake up sad, angry, insecure, discouraged or even depressed. Have you noticed that you lead your whole day that way? When you're at work and the printer all of a sudden doesn't print and the paper jams, you right away start blaming the machine and start cursing at it. How about when you want to take the train on time and you get there right when the doors close, you start blaming the conductor and the subway system for not waiting for you and your anger keeps building? How about when you wanted a job so bad and you finally get the call that they already hired someone? You feel all discouraged and you start saying to yourself, "well maybe I'm not good enough", "I'm not going anywhere in life", and you keep putting yourself down. I tell you something, that printer is not to blame - you just didn't read the screen where it says that it needs servicing. The conductor and subway system is not to blame - you should've been more attentive to the time instead of going crazy trying to figure out what to wear. There is no reason for you to be putting yourself down, that job was not meant for you. You are to blame. If you think negative thoughts, negative your day will be, but, if you think positive thoughts, positive and more productive your day will be. Your life follows your thoughts.
Your mind is like a computer. If you add the wrong program to your computer it will malfunction. If you don't protect your computer with anti-virus programs, viruses will corrupt your files and your computer will malfunction. This is the same for your mind, the program that you put in it is how is going to function. If you don't protect your mind from negative thoughts your life will malfunction. "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Your emotions respond to what you're thinking. How you think will determine how your life will be. Your life follows your thoughts.
You need an anti-virus, anti-negative. "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (Colossians 3:2)
You need to set your minds on positive things, set your minds on God who gives you peace, joy and love. "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things".
(Philippians 4:7-8)
Don't just say, "Okay, I'm going to think positive", and still allow your actions to function towards negativity. You need to act and think positive. "Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed." (1 Peter 1:13)
You need to change your thoughts, change your life ".to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness" (Ephesians 4:23-24)
